Program Expectations

League play consists of a Fall and Summer Season with winter futsal and skills sessions
Parental expectations include positive sideline behavior and appropriate communication with HFC United board, staff and volunteers

Ensure players are on time to scheduled events. 

Why the Competitive Program over the Rec. Program?

Recreational soccer is an in-house program with a focus of touches on the ball and is an introductiont the excitement soccer provides. Summer/Fall recreational soccer ends at 4th grade. Players that would prefer to play at a competitive level are encourage to start when they age at the U9 age group.  

Competitive soccer competes against other TCSL Member Clubs at various playing levels. The focus of the Competitive Program is to develop players to reach their highest playing potential. Both programs look to foster an enjoyment and passion for the sport. How is the Competitive Program Organized?

• Player ID/team formation occurs end of July/early August for the following year
• Teams are organized by: age, gender, skill and registration numbers
• We serve age U9-U18 and average 18-20 teams between girls and boys
• Late registrations will be added to a wait list (after August) and we actively attempt to place all players on a team

  
What is the commitment?

Fall season

• August-October,  with an average of two practices a week with games on the weekends.
• Fall Festival(u9/10) and final four are possible for the older group.

Summer season

• Training is available all winter starting with Futsal(November-February- and other team skill sessions.
• The Club will expect attendance at practices starting in later March at our indoor arena facility(Civic center).
• Summer game play starts in May and ends in July. June is Fall Festival(U9/U10) and Final Four in July.
• Games are located within 30 miles of Allianz field in St. Paul, MN. Half games are played at home and the other half are at various locations with drive time generally under an hour.

A player can transition from recreational play to competitive soccer when they are skill ready. This is determined by attending the player ID/Team formation process in July of each year.  Parents should expect to register for Player ID/Fall/summer all at the same time, registration occurs in June of each year.  After player ID, your player will be assigned to a fall team and a summer team.  See our Player ID/Team Formation page for more details.

What if I missed Player ID/Team Formation?

You may still register and will be placed on a "wait list" until a team can be determined. Please reach out to our travel director or Director of coaching prior to registering. 

• Soccer teams are formed in the summer season prior to the year of play.
• Registration opens May/June and includes enrollment to attend the player ID/team formation   which occurs in the end of July.
• Teams are announced approximately 1-2 weeks after the last player ID occurs.
